The Drill king Story

Drill King International was founded back in 2004 by Randy Broseh in Arlington, Texas. A year later, the business turned into a real family affair when brother Larry Broseh acquired the business. The brothers used their extensive industry knowledge to create a unique company with the best customer service in mind.

Continued growth and customer demand saw Drill King in 2008 decide to build a 60,000 sq.ft (5,575 sq.m) facility in Mansfield Texas. From this point the company has gone from strength to strength creating innovative drilling tools and solutions for a variety of customer projects around the globe.

Drill King International was founded in Arlington, Texas. Many of Drillmaster and Sandvik personnel joined the team within the first year of operation
Merged with Cam-Tech Aerospace and shared manufacturing facility. Manufactured percussion hammer bits, hammer parts and related down-hole products
The Company separated from aerospace and formed its own legal entity with independent management
Built and moved into a new 60,000 sq. ft. facility in Mansfield, Texas. Added $3 Million capital equipment in addition to existing production capabilities. Increased the size of manufacturing bits to 42” (1067mm)
Purchased excess equipment from Sandvik’s U.S. plant closing. Began design engineering percussion air hammers
Began first production of air hammers in-house. Purchased three new large Turning Centers and additional automatic saw
Formed an alliance with GDS (Sweden) and OCI (Pennsylvania) to design engineer the new WAI water hammer and began production on the 5” (WAI 50) and 6” (WAI 60)
Purchased (1) 4-axis Vertical Machining Center and (1) 5-axis Horizontal Machining Center w/dual rotary A/B pallets. Into full production of air hammers through 12” and WAI hammers (3”-8”)
Designed and began production of 3, 4 and 8” WAI Hammers. Purchased two (2) Large body CNC Turning Centers capable of turning 42" (1067mm) diameter steel forgings
Acquired two (2) new Doosan 4-axis Turning Centers to effectively produce hammer parts
Designed 18” air hammer and 12” WAI hammer. Both in testing state
Opened European stocking warehouse to allow quicker and more economical product availability

Global Network

Drill King dealer’s worldwide have shared an understanding of product excellence combined with the added benefit of local knowledge and insight. DKI’s ever increasing customer network is widely spread both domestically and internationally and is committed to always being on hand when clients need product or technical assistance.

2020 Drill King decided to expand its foot print even further by opening a UK based office and warehouse further supporting existing and new business potential in Europe and beyond. Being closer to the different drilling sectors allows the customers faster and more economical product availability.

Strategic Alliances

Significant investment in new machinery to aid future growth helped DKI form key alliances with customers around the world. GDS (Sweden) and OCI (USA) to design and manufacture a range of new water (WAI) hammers 5” (50 WAI) and 6” (60 WAI).

2019 saw DKI move into larger diameter hammers with a DTH 18” air hammer and 12” WAI water hammer both destined for the ever growing world construction markets. 2020 welcomed the opening of a new UK based branch to better support the companies European customers.
