How It Works
01
Fitted to the leading edge
The casing shoe or crown bit is fitted to the leading edge of the rotary casing string, ahead of the casing pipe body.
02
Cuts and guides the string
As the rig rotates and advances the casing, the carbide-faced shoe or bit cuts and guides the string through the formation.
03
Casing follows the cut
Sized to the casing OD, the shoe or bit opens a bore that lets the casing follow immediately behind, holding the hole open.
04
Protected to target depth
Wear pads and premium carbide protect the cutting face from abrasive ground, keeping the casing advancing to depth.
